Vans Skate Sk8-Low Shoes Civilist in Black. A collaboration between Vans and Civilist that features custom artwork from German artist and repeat collaborator Carsten Fock, these monochrome Vans Skate Sk8-Lows combine cityscape tributes with the Vans Skate Classic collection’s wholehearted commitment to technical performance and archival revived design. Styled with bold black uppers crafted from premium brushed suede, these low collared and remastered Sk8-Low’s feature improvements across the DURACAP reinforcements, a cushioned PopCush footbed and Vans’ infamous tread focused Waffle outsole. Updates to the undercut and extended side-wall foxings provide increased durability across any demanding skate style, whilst the contrasting crisp white stitchings across the perforated toe box and eyelet overlays provide further reinforcement to suit. Embroidered ‘Say Goodbye To The City’ drip-down detailing is sewn into each quarter panel to complement the custom ‘Civilist’ detailed laces across the recessed 6 eyelet lacing system, whilst the collaborative ‘Vans x Civilist’ embroidered tongue tab and ‘Back To The Roots’ insoles brings added texture to the design. In honour of Vans’ revolutionary Skate Classics collection, an all-new checkerboard flag label trim can be seen above the side-stripe replaced embroidered side walls, whilst the red and white heel scab has been updated to feature ‘Off The Wall Skateboarding’ detailing beneath the two tone rubber foxing.

Following on from 2017’s ‘Coffee and Cigarettes’ pack and 2014’s collaborative Vans Syndicate Pro ‘S’ release, this latest Vans x Civilist Sk8-Low collection pays homage to Berlin’s cityscape counterculture and the expressive artwork associated with German artist Carsten Fock. Part of Vans’ evolving Skate Classics collection that is focused on performative progression with respect to time honoured archival influence.
